Sunnyside Cemetery Survey
Trees, grass and the trail in Sunnyside Cemetery Survey.
The City of Surrey is seeking community input to shape a Master Plan for expanding Sunnyside Cemetery. Of the three City-owned cemeteries, Sunnyside Cemetery is the last cemetery with space for expansion and is needed to accommodate the anticipated growth of the city. Additional burial options are also being explored.
Sunnyside Cemetery is located in South Surrey at 148 Street and 28 Avenue. The site is bisected by the Semiahmoo Trail, which is a heritage route and a popular recreational trail for walking and cycling.

The site is reaching capacity in the existing areas dedicated to cemetery services. As such, the City is creating a Master Plan to identify new areas within the site for cemetery expansion and to provide a wider variety of end-of-life care services options for residents and their loved ones. The City is designing the expansion to be sensitive to the Semiahmoo Trail and existing forest on the site.

This short survey is intended to gain an understanding of Surrey and non-Surrey residents’ use of Sunnyside Cemetery and the Semiahmoo Trail at this location, and to gather general preferences for end-of-life care service offerings.
The City wants to gather feedback from as many Surrey residents as possible, so we are promoting this survey in a number of different ways. You may receive a City eNewsletter referring to the survey or hear about it on social media, however, we ask that you only complete the survey once
