We want to hear from you! This survey is an opportunity to provide input on the details of a dog off-leash area that was identified as a desired amenity in the 2009 Joe Brown Master Plan. Through careful analysis, one location is deemed suitable based on the criteria of 1-acre minimum size, relatively flat topography, setback from natural area, and compatibility with existing uses within the park.

This planned 1.3 acre fenced dog off-leash area is situated within the western topographic bowl of Joe Brown Park. This location was formerly a City-owned gravel quarry known as Colebrook Pit, which was in operation until 1983. In 2004, the quarry became part of Joe Brown Park. It is here that the City plans to build a new dog off-leash area. The plan will include improved sightlines from the main walking loop and a multi-use path bordering the perimeter of the off-leash area that will become part of the trail network.
