Tree Protection Bylaw Update Survey
I

The City of Surrey is currently reviewing its existing Tree Protection Bylaw and would like to gather opinions from the public.

The purpose of the Tree Protection Bylaw is to regulate the cutting, removal and damage of trees. The Bylaw is administered by a team of Certified Arborists and Landscape Architects. The Bylaw sets fees and issues permits for tree cutting and removal. It sets requirements for the number of replacement trees that must be planted on private property to replace trees that are permitted for removal. The Bylaw also sets limits for penalties and offences against the Bylaw.

The following diagram explains the steps involved in applying for a Tree Cutting Permit.
